i will be picking up a '98 impreza L in a couple of weeks and the first thing i want is coilover!!!!! not sure which ones i should get so i thought id look for some opinions from those on here who have experience in rally, as my experience is in sandrails and prerunners.
so far what im leaning towards are the "K Sport Rally Spec GR Coilovers"
what are your thoughts??

Why... because they are cheap?
I would re-evaluate why you need to have coilovers, if you're going to be DD'ing the car and only doing rallyx. Consider getting some KYB AGX struts and some STi springs. Good performance for rallyx, an acceptable ride on the street... easy on the wallet.
Tokico D-specs are good struts too for the money.

I was fairly happy with my Ksport setup. very adjustable the rebound and compression dampening is linked. be sure to ask for a custom spring rate when you order them or you'll get something a bit too high .. i ended up using springs i got from ground control and summit racing to rock a 250 / 200. think they sent me 325/280 first time around.
JVAB makes a sick set they are geared specifically for full stage rally (though you could probably get some custom valving) they would be a bit too soft for autox but feel amazing on stage, its about $400 more than your budget though .. also because they are custom made (guy in his garage) they take a while to show up.
oh ya, Aaron has a good point, a good set of struts and aftermarket springs could lend you to being very happy ...
ALSO the Tein Dirt Trials setup is very impressive. it uses a stock style fitment spring , so if your dampers are blown you could jsut pick up their dampers and wait to get their springs (or pick up wrx / sti springs, or king springs) and create a coilover system that way (think it has some adjustment)

not sure if that's a cost for 4 (seems too cheap) or for 1 (seems to high) if its $380 for 4 its a steal, if for 1 its pricey.

Your other alternative is to get STi struts and Ground Control adjustable springs. Or you can go custom like I did: http://www.dirtyimpreza.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18009
STi struts are rebuildable, can be revalved and are a pretty great setup for the price.

its funny i forgot about this thread, and today i read your custom suspension build thread and then realized you made the above comment haha.
well i still havent done any suspension changes yet, as i cant decide which class i want my car to be in for rallyx and eventually stage rally.
BUT how much did your custom set up cost?
