I am a skinny little uckf (size 28 waist 32 inseam), and the stock WRX seat does nothing to keep me in place.
Sometime in the future I want to upgrade to a "racing" seat, but I find myself confused as how I go about sizing them.
Also I don't care to spend a kajillion dollars on a seat so suggestions for the lower end would be nice (IE no carbon fiber/kevlar). I would like to keep it FIA legal.
TIA!!! :waving:

team illuminati has some i believe as well as there are size charts of what would be the best seat for different waist sizes on the seat selection

sit in them, that's the best/only way (imo) for a real race seat.
a FIA/RA seat still won't be all that cheap, just fyi.

I am almost de same shape as you and my Sparco REV(same as the new sparco EVO, FIA approuved) are doing very well for me. Not tried them in the car yet since the project isn't finish but I played richard burns rally a couple hour in this seats and I don't regret my purchase.

I didn't think anyone was as small as me, hell I was comparatively skinny even when I was in japan!

You really need to find a place to try out a bunch of different seats. Even seats with the same reported dimensions will feel different. But, being skinny will give you the advantage - Sparcos tend to be really small seats. At 6'4" and 200 lbs (36" waist though) it's painful for me to squeeze into a Rev or Evo (even the XL sized ones).
And when I did find a seat that fit correctly, the harness holes would be too low in the seat - GRRRRR.
Finally found that the Sabelt Taurus and Titan XL seats fit me properly (nice, FIA approved seats for not too much money). Nice comfortable snug fit and the harness holes are high enough that it's not causing the belts to bend up to get over my shoulders.
If you are planning on using these for daily driving, you should probably consider tube frame rather than composite seats. They a a little more comfortable for sitting in for long periods of time, but are usually on the cheaper end of the price spectrum and not FIA approved.

have you tried sitting in 2.5rs seats? i'm pretty thin and i feel like they'd be sufficient for somebody with a smaller waist size than myself (32). also, try twisting the seatbelt 360* arount before latching it. this is something i do to hold me into the seat better while rallycrossing.
