I have $7000 to spend. Lmfao
it sounds like it was pretty well cared for which IMHO is waaaay better then low but uncared for miles every time!
what color (not that it really matters but just curious)
Mastercraft are complete garbage - the only reason people put them on is to make it look like it has new rubber - budget for tires immediately and sell those on Craigs List to someone you will never see again :waving:
why is the guy selling it? this does matter to me - he just bought a new STi then this is a good thing cause it shows that he probably cared about this car... but if it is a dad selling it cause his kid ended up going to jail -(even though it wasn't his fault of course - the dead body just happened to be in his apartment after the party ended)... hmmmm well.....
sounds ok to me though - has the car lived it's whole life in the salt and snow?
and why was the A/C removed.. is the lack of A/C, the susp. mods and the rolled fenders signs that this car saw tarmac competetion regularly - not that that is a terrible thing but 140K race miles are not easy miles and a rebuild might be sooner then you hoped if this is the case -

good thinking! lol except i removed my a/c in my jeep and replaced with a bypass pulley cause i didnt want to spend $200 bucks on a new one lol.. also they didnt make the bypass pully for my jeep so i modded one from a dif vehicle lol..
you should check to see the removed a/c and see if its a ghetto job, or a smaller belt or what cause that would be a issue on the track if your belt fell off! haha

A lot of valid points, keep in mind that most pre 02 RS's now you will probably be looking at a rebuild not long after you buy it. It's just the age and mileage of most of these cars. Seems like subie drivers drive too much...couldn't tell ya why...;-)

well thanks for the feedback.
the color is silver and the reason A/c is removed is because the owner was planning for a complete WRX swap and stopped it due to some reasons which are unnamed. I believe its probably family? dunno though

Take a good long look at it first and make sure it's not a bad deal.

Kelley Blue Book price at that mileage and condition is low $5000s.. http://www.kbb.com if you wanna try it. I daresay there's at least $1200 worth of suspension there.. but OTOH the first rule of mods is "don't expect to get back what you put in"..
I think someone on a different thread said the early 2.5s had head gasket issues. So I guess get it looked over by a pro (AAA or whoever) if you can. Also run a VIN check on it. In fact do that before you even go look at it..
You might look on rs25.com to see if they have buying guides or whatever. Maybe ask this same question over there if you haven't already?

Its good to see they did the timing belt.
Once again though, ask about the head gaskets
If they haven't been replaced yet, then they need to be.
But take it for a drive, listen for any squeaks and and look for leaks, look at EVERYTHING.
I hope you end up getting it, you're going to love it!!

How much do good ones cost? And how easy are they to replace?

haha.. i cant tell you a brand...but a head gasket is like $16-$30... the labor on the other hand if u dont do it your self.. like $600+ lol
easy? um well i wouldnt know too much on a 2.5 really but it usually means ripping everything off the motor and taking the head off cleaning it up and putting it all back together... on a flat motor... well ive never done it but im assuming its harder than any "v" motors
