OK, well as much as I love my light bar and lights, I don't always like to drive around with it on the car. Whenever I take it off though, I miss not having my Hella amber 500 fogs to turn on at night. I just recently traded a NIB set of Supertones for a 50w H7 HID kit. I installed them into my headlights for about a week, then I ripped them out tired of the glare. One of the bulbs is also going bad, so that got frustrating too. Well, I found some sweet 50w H3 HID bulbs that I can get in a cool 3000k! Hmmm..... The stock fogs take H3's!!!:headbang: So I decided to dig out my stock fogs and take a look at them and try to figure out how to make them not suck. If you look into the projector from the bulb opening you will see a wall. This is what produces the cutoff for the fog pattern. Well, I just want LIGHT, so I do not need this. It literally takes up half of the projector! :jack: I threw one in the oven to open it up to see what it will take to get it out of there. I got it apart and now I need to get it to work to dremel it out. Once I get that done, I will put the projector back together and test it out with my H7 HID bulbs before I order up these H3's. If all goes well and this works good, I will be painting the chrome surround black as well. I think they will look pretty slick and be bright as ****! Not to bad for the stock fogs!

They are all together and installed. I put the 50w HID 3000k kit in and wired it all up. These things are BRIGHT! I am extremely happy with them!! I do not have any pictures at the time, but as it gets nicer outside I will. Maybe I will do a little video as well eventually.

Did you update the nastycock thread about these? I'd love to see what they say about "ruining" your stock fogs.
They look awesome, I can't wait to see how they work

No I havent. I dont think I will either. All they will do is bitch and moan about how ghetto and unsafe it is :jack: .....No cut off, hacked up projector...blah blah blah blah. They arnt worth my time. The truth is though, there is no cutoff, so there is glare. Do you need to hack it like I did?? I dont think so. That is what makes a project though. You have to try things out and test them for yourself. I am extremely happy with them, and would not change a thing.

I condsidered trying to put HIDs in my factory fogs, and ended up just swapping the 55w h3s for 100w h3s. Made it a little better, but not a lot.

You have to replace the pieces of crap. They just suck no matter what.
