Gauge Install, Wiring Question.

I am installing a set of Defi Gauges, i got most of the wires hooked up, but i am having troubles finding where to put the White wire illumination. i am just wondering what wire y'all tapped into. I have a ECM printout I am trying to find what wire the DTRL are using so i can tap into that. would that be wise to do? I have never been a big fan of electrical work, affraid i might burn something up. haha.

Assuming they mean "night time illumination", you could find the headlight fuse and tap into the wire that goes to that. Electrical work on modern cars is kinda crazy.. all that CANBUS crap.

I got another question:

Right now, when the car is turned on for the frist time the gauges light up then go black. with the flashing red lights on all of them, i dont have the sensors run. could this be the reason why they are all black?. Unfortunetly the booklet doesnt specify what type of illumination. but you could be right. guess the only way to find out is to try it out!

I just did a set of ProSport Gauges and they are simply just ON and OFF, so i can only guess what the Defi illumination is. I'd think it would tie into when your cluster is on w/ the headlights.

Well figured it out. called the Stealership. they suggested flip flopping between Meter 1 and Meter 2. i plugged into meter 1 and they light up woot!
