so today i'm driving my 1993 impreza wagon and the check engine light goes on. didn't have time to take it to advance and have them run a code scanner. so i shut my car off go into my apartment come out few hours later and suddenly my car just wont start. it just cranks and cranks and cranks like its not getting fuel. when you first turn the key it stutters like its gonna start but doesn't. it only does that for a second at best. but i notice just when i have my key in the on position my cooling fans are going ape****. now i'm assuming this is a completely different problem cause idk why cooling fans would stop a car from starting but if it isn't please help me out or help me out with both. i'm thinking possibly my fuel lines are frozen? but idk its to cold and dark out to check anything out.

you can try to put a bottle of HEET gas lineanti freeze in the gas asn see if that helps but usually if its already froze that won't help.
Or if you can pull the hose going into the fuel filter right under the hood on the drivers side wheel well, have some one crank it while you watch the line, if you get gas out the line thats not your problem, then id check your plugs see if their ok, then go from there...
Good luck, im chasing ignition gremlins right now myself:shootsself:

yeah idk it makes no sense i dont thing its the spark plugs cause i drove the car all day and it was fine. i'm wondering if it has to do with the check engine light that came on today.

so what did the codes say?
my car does this and i have to get under the hood and wiggle the cam angle sensor(push it in closer to the reluctor. i guess this was common for older 2.2's
a new one is about 45 bucks from the dealer
open the hood and locate the grey plug on the brown fitting on the back of the driver side timing belt cover. push it down and in at the same time or wiggle it around to some degree
i bet you a dollar this is the problem
