I started a new thread
I just got done this is going on a rally car in MI. It uses a nascar sway bar and
quick clamps for the arms you can just slide the bar out with out taking
anything apart. This will be more fun for the street guys but the new frame
is hardcore and fits a stock rack with hard lines.
We are also working on moving the motor back on another frame with
adjustable front arms to get a lot more caster.

You might want to call it a front crossmember rather than a "front subframe" because we usually think of the U-shaped stamped steel thing as the front subframe, right?
Looks promising!

^^no, that's technically the sub-frame brace.

Awesome, just waht we could really use! Can I ask what rate (i.e. size dia x length) bar you used and how long the arms where? Did you do the same for the rear?

It is a 3/4 nascar bar and the stock is 20 mm and 3/4 is real close to 19mm
but with the bar only having about 34 inches at 3/4 it will be a touch stiffer
depending on how far out you make attachment points.
With this there are a lot of options of bars theres increments all the way up
too 1.5 solid that will fit in this frame.

any chance of one that will work with the stock front sway bar?

Yes there is one in the works right now thanks to a DI member.
And It will be an option for the guys that already spent few
hundred on there sway bar and other parts.
The only thing I haven't come across is if anyone is going to want original
u frame mounts and that is possible as well.

Thanks TSS,
Yeah I installed a similar NSCAR style sway-bar setup on an old Mazda race car using bars from Speedway Engineering. When I did the math on my 03 WRX with a RCE adj bars and hem joint end links that I'm using for use on pavement I was getting really high numbers for the rates I need to run to be comparable. So I was wondering what rates you where running and if it was successful? I'm really interested in a front and rear NSACAR style sway bars with cockpit adjustability.

Hi All,
I usually just creep around here, but I figured I should say hi. Anyway, I built/codrive the car that the subframe is going into. Hopefully we'll get it installed pretty soon here and I can get some pics/reviews for everybody.
Here's a pic of the car it's going on.
It's a 2002 or 2003 wrx, can't remember what year. It already has the rear TSS subframe and it's working out great.

Sigh snake oil, is setting up a car to its environment based on massive wealth
of public knowledge and then just adapting and making that car work so bad.
I don't think I could sell anyone that sway bar with a straight face, For the
money you could do better else where, I try and only build or support things
that will save the person from headaches or put a big smile on there face.
The rates I do not know due to nascar normally uses 5 degrees deflection
starting at 10 inches out and this will be about 6

Here's a pic of the subframe. Everything looks great.
I added the the tube under the motor mounts for the sump guard to rest on. Now I just need to figure out the anti roll bar arms and drop links and I should be able to get everything installed this coming weekend.

Front frame for stock sway bar I think this will be a hit if I can do them
for a good enough price.

Awesome, I assume that also is setup for the standard style of steering rack and not the direct-mount 05+ STi steering racks?
