Hi Guys! Here's how to make your very own SWRT portable flag! I take this to all the events I go to, and its a great way for people to find you in a crowd (so long as 10 other people dont have the same flag)
Instructions to make the portable base can be found here! (http://www.dirtyimpreza.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3605)
Here are the pieces.
1) Buy a Subaru SWRT flag off Ebay (example link (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/New-SUBARU-RALLY-banner-flag-IMPREZA-FREE-SHIP-SB2_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ56421QQihZ016QQitem Z260189001927QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW))
2) Buy some 1" PVC pipe from the hardware store.
3) Buy some male and female threaded caps
4) Buy some PVC adhesive (the dark gray stuff)

Cut the PVC pipe into segments that are small enough to fit in your car. I did two segments that are roughly the size of my trunk sideways so i can pack them easily. Using the PVC adhesive, glue the male / female caps on each end of the pipe, so you will be able to screw them together.

On one side i did both a male and a female cap, so that another male cap can screw into the flag portion of the pole.

Confused yet? Its not that complicated. Basically you just need to be able to screw the ends together to make a bigger "flagpole"

For the pole that holds the flag, measure out a piece of PVC that is as long as the flag is wide. Drill some holes through and tie the flag on. (I used some heavy duty nylon string because one of my flags ties ripped off)

On race day, erect your SWRT flag and either zip tie it to something, or i like to slide it through my stacked street tires (thats why i have blue tape on that one segment, to not scratch my wheels).

Trimming the ties is probably a good idea too. I need to do that to mine.
Coming soon! How to make a spare tire stand! No more zip ties needed to hold your flag up. You need to take your spare tire out at the track anyway right? Why not use it for something constructive!
