what should the alignment specs be on my 05 sti if i spend a lot of time in gravel? i realize everybody has their own preferences but i dont even know where to start. i have access to an alignment rack for free so i can mess with it some i just can only use it every so ofton so id like a good place to start. i dont care about tire wear so thats not an issue. the only alignment specs i could find were for tarmac rallying no offroad stuff. thanks in advance
having trouble finding info on this. if somebody could tell me that would be helpful or if you could just point me in the right direction i would also appreciate it. :guitarist: :headbang:

the stock alignment specs work fine on the dirt. but if you want to mess with it....-2 camber up front and back. zero toe on the front....a little toe out on the rear, maybe .5 degrees out.

actually, I think you need to buy camber bolts to adjust camber in the rears.

Jon are you really running toe out in the rear....thats a big no no. You want either 0 or 1/16 (what I like) is enough but I've heard people running up to 3/8 toe in.

well, I'm still driving on the street, so I run zero toe all around. I've read that toe out helps turn the car. why is it a no-no?

cause you will start to wear the outside or inner tread of the tires or just go thru tires faster

Exactly cause you get "rear steer" while it sounds good in theory (tight rallyx course) its bad! So another words the rear end will feel like its wandering all the time and tough to maintain stable.

I have 1.5 degrees toe out on my escort :-D But it drives sideways at every corner... it also molests the rear tyres...

Good setup for dirt is 0 to a tad bit toe-in... once you start going toe-out you cant keep the car straight @ speeds...
