So some of the more eagle-eyed of you will have noticed that some rallycross events that score points for the CRS Championship(s) are not running traditional CRS classes. Glen Helen being an excellent example - Jay is running a modified version of the SCCA rules.

In the past, this has meant that the event could not be CRS, but a rule change approved by the CRS Board of Governors for 2011 means that CRS classes can be applied to any event. This will allow more freedom for organisers to run the classes they want, whilst allowing CRS points to be accumulated in more venues.

The official wording in the rulebook (http://www.californiarallyseries.com/Current/Rulebook/index.aspx#rallycross_championship) is:
At events that don’t use CRS classes, the CRS Rallycross Liaison or his/her designated representative will determine CRS classes for all the CRS members at the event. These classes will be used to determine the assignment of CRS points.

The CRS Rallycross Liaison is me, by the way.

What this means to you, the competitor, is that if you are a CRS member competing at a CRS-points-scoring event, you will be classed after the event based on your standings in the CRS class into which you fall (SS2/4, SM2/4, R2/4).

I will endeavour to post the CRS results as soon as possible following an event.

GH1 will be the first attempt at doing it this way, so bear with me while I figure it out.

As far as championships are concerned, we have enough events that there will once again be both a CRS North and South rallycross championship.

never really looked into this before, but wanted to know the CRS's stance on skidplates installed on street stock vehicles? i didn't see anything saying they are or are not allowed and i checked with the scca rulebook, which its ok with a skidplate.

Adding a skid plate should be just fine. Not really a power adder or better traction like rally tires.

i've been thinking that it should be fine, but over the last few years i've been running crs, i never really asked this question before. mainly because it was such a pain in the ass and more than i wanted to pay to get a skid plate made for the celica, but now that i'm in a subaru, there are plenty options. now i'm interested in putting something on to protect under the car. just don't want to add anything outside of the reg's and have people think i'm being sneaky.
