I have been doing my research on here for quite a while and got alot of great help from you guys:D. I ordered up my tires and rims and they finally came, and I was able to mount them. I had to grind about 1/8" off of the outter rim side of the front callipers so they would fit without rubbing. I will get some pictures of this grinding soon.
I got 15X6.5 +42 offset wheels and 205/75/15 General Grabber Tires. These things fit perfectly with NO lift! I will get some better photos in a few days when I take it out ice fishing. Let me know if you hate it or love it:thumbsup:http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/hs077.snc6/168792_10150111409403905_500318904_6079746_703382_ n.jpg

No sir it does not rub at all. At least under semi normal driving conditions. I will give it a good test Saturday and have some videos :rally-driver:

Would I have to grind my calipers on my '06 OBS with 16". Or is it just the WRX calipers that would hit.
BTW, that looks awesome!!!

dude. f*cking awesome! i'm so glad you decided to put the white logos facing out, it looks mean.
i'm definitely going to steal your idea and go with this size tire on my wagon because they look so meaty! how is the sidewall flex on the road?
winski357
09-28-2011, 11:44 AM
one could assume then, that 205/70-15's would also fit?
sleepersoob02
09-28-2011, 06:06 PM
Thanks! The sidewall flex isent too bad actually, I can still corner fairly well considering. Yah I bet the 70's would fit for sure, not so sure if they make that size though. Also I have had these tires on the car for almost 10K now and they have been amazing the whole way. Just ordered a 1" lift for the car a few days ago!

Looks awesome man but grinding calipers? No thank you. We sell 15" wheels that actually fit over WRX brakes wthout drastic modifications to safety equipment like brakes. Yes, they do exist despite much forum-lore to the contrary.

Meh it was just the outside diameter of the front calipers, its not goingto affect breaking at all. Plus im still alive after driving it for 10k like that

my wagon is quickly on its way to looking like this. I had some questions if you dont mind. I have some Oem 15" wheels with a +55 offset and was planning to use a 15MM spacer to get around a +40mm total offset with the same size tires you have.
I was curious how much space you had between the tire and fender?
Also how much space between the tire and strut/spring perch?
sleepersoob02
11-22-2011, 06:39 PM
You mean from the tire rubbing against the inside edge of the fender? I would say 1/2"
I have about an inch of clearance there maybe a little less.

I'm thinking about running enkei rc-g4s with either this tire or the geolander 205/70. Only problem is they are +50 but i love the styling. Do you have an idea if they would rub the struts at that offset?

It would be really close. I wish I could tell you a deffinate answer.

I was looking at those too. The car is just a daily driver though. I may do an occasional snow/rally-x and some trail riding. The RC-G4 should hold up fine here, right?
Although i see on the website offsets range from +12 to +49. How does that work? Does it cost extra to get a custom offset?

Ok, thanks. I have extended studs on the front so running a spacer up there is no problem. No studs on the rear and i really don't want to install any...sounds like a pain. I think we can run 5mm spacers on the rear without studs which would put me at +45.

Aesthetically they are very similar. The RC-G4 would hold up fine but the BRAIDS are probably stronger, AND CHEAPER, even though TR are discounting the Enkeis because they are not selling well.
The offsets listed are those that can be made at no extra charge. Actually it's 12 to 55. Outside this range costs a little more. We stock them for Subarus in +50, +49 and +45 so you could be driving round on some next week.

And look how thin the mouting flange is on the Enkei. No steel bolt seats either:

I assume you will be going to Sno*Drift then? We will have 4 sponsored cars in the event and one of the 000 cars will be our Jeep Cherokee. Should be many other BRAID shod cars both in and around it and we will have displays at race HQ, Lewiston and Atlanta service areas. Hope to see you there.
