Hi,
Has anyone tried some snow tires a bit over OEM size?
Thanks,

you are limited to a 27" tall tire so whatever size fits in that.

the smallest wheels are 17" right? Because of the bigger brakes? If you can put a 16 on it. Let me know. Then I can look for some STi brakes!

Thanks dunkin.. what about the width? are you sure about the 27" overall without rubbing issues? Doing some math OEM is 245/40-18 == 25.72" overall...
Keeping the same width means you can go to 245/45-18 == 26.72" without risks if you are correct..
I'd really like to go with something wider to save the wheels when off roading and was thinking 255/45-18 which comes out to 27.03" overall height... might be risky but has anyone tried it?
Finally, best solution would be to use a smaller wheel but haven't test fitted anything. I had an '07 STI with same size brakes (I think) that ran 17" wheels.. Not sure about the 16" clearing the Brembos..

I have done some measuring when I installed my spacer. I would say 27" is the max. but read here for width talk. Also the brembos wont go down to a 16" wheel, 17" is the smallest.
