Okay so I'm hoping one of you guys working at a suby dealer can help me out with something. As most of you guys know i am a saab/subaru tech and sense i'm starting to get more and more subarus in I am curious what the factory scan tool is called so i can look into buying one for the shop here. I have a generic one from midtronics that reads obd1/2 and abs codes and vag com will do generic obd but i cant reset imobilizers or program key remotes :bs:. Any help would be great.

OP used the gigantic blue Subaru speak-and-spell looking computer on my STi when we were chasing down a misfire code. I think this is the unit you're talking about. He said it cost him 4 G's to pick one up.
That thing was amazing, as it can read every sensor on the car in realtime.

I just want that damned tool so I can activate ABS Sequence Control and bleed the damned ABS pump.

Would it read and reset the Airbag light on my wife's '07 OBW? It only comes on when it's cold outside (was off all summer after being on all last winter  )

if i could figure out what it's called then i could do all this. the generic and tools like the solus cant usually get into the abs or the theft alarms or srs lights. Well that holds true to forign cars at least it works on amurican cars pretty nicely

I have a tactrix cable and it lets me view all the sensors in the car in real time, check and clear codes, etc...
The cable cost me $160 and the software is free.
I don't know if it will let you program remotes. check out their website or give them a call.
