Hey Guys!
My name is Paul and I have an '02 WRX... I've pretty much gone through the whole freaking car it seems. But oh well. It's a"stage 2" car with a cop AP, ERZ downpipe/gutted stock exhuast, and some suspension work. The car is prepped for local STX competiton though the SCCA Solo program however I am starting to get a big interest in Rally X so I figured that I would join up and read up on your setups and get suggestions for what I should do for the coming rally x season.
Thanks!

Glad rallycross has struck some curiosity in you! Rallyx is growing steadily it seems.
I think the nashville region holds rallyx's.. have you ever made it out to one of those?

Welcome Paul! Were happy to have you.
The transition to rallycross isnt too hard, get yourself some mudflaps, a skidplate (rear differential plate too if you want) and you're pretty much ready to go!
Different tires will help too. Street tires are no good in the mud!

And honestly, you probably don't *need* this stuff right away if cash is tight. Most RallyX courses are tame enough. Nobody was prepped like this except for one car at the last Austin RallyX, and that course is very harsh -- many rocks the size of your fist, hard ruts and gravel, etc. Everybody drove home fine except for the Porsche 930  that had some problem with the distributor.
When you do have the cash, though, that protection is a good idea. Personally, I'd go for cheap wheels and tires first because RallyX can chew up your tires.
