okay here is another one....sigh...... When i start driving up till about 20-30mph i can hear a clunking noise in the rear of the car. it almost sounds like the rear diff is worn out or something. i also can only walk it sideways when turning left it dosent do so well when turning right (it just understeers). it does this even whether or not i use the hand brake or wheight transferr. and i am positive it isnt just me. Buddy of mine has the exact same car as me and it has no problem sliding left or right (its like butter). i have awhile to figure this out cause i am parking it cause i got a dd (honda accord). bunch of new parts are goin on it here soon. just needing to know what else i have to add to my list of things to buy.

So, you can hear this noise under any conditions below 20-30mph? not when turning, accel/decel, going over bumps, etc? more detail would be better.
Maybe check your rear struts (if you have sti struts of any kind), then cv boots and other such drivetrain stuff.

Flush and fill your rear differential. See how much metal is in there.

i put it on a lift at my buddys shop and all rear end suspension componets are fine. No broken springs or sway bar endlinks. Mostly under accel and it does do it when turning. Its almost like a popping sound.

it could also be the soft bushings allowing the diff to twist and **** causing the popping sound. thats what mine does :(

75w90. If it is bad just replace it with the same rear otherwise you will have to change your trans.
