Just joined the site. Looking to get back into racing and am thinking stage rally is the way to go.
Living in NYC and wondering if others are in the same boat and have some sort of co-op garage arrangement going to store / work on cars.
If not, what are NYC people doing about their racecars?
Thanks
Matt

I live in NYC but split a garage in Philly with another buddy that stage rallies after losing my garages last year. It's been good since we split costs for not only the garage but tools etc...
What are you planning on running?

I'm debating between the new spec ford series or running super production with a 08+ sti.
I like the contigency program for both of these, bring running costs down and both look like real healthy potential for competition among drivers rather than cars.
Not set in stone, however, still in early stage of deciding. Heading to dirtfish in 2 weeks to run their super productions cars for 3 days to see how well/poorly I do on dirt. Ultimatley will match where my skills are a tad below the cars potential, that could end up being a low power non competitive car, but will know when I get through dirtfish.
Looking to run the NY series, some rallycross maybe rallyx, and get a waiver to run the east coast RA events.
Hoping to either get involved with or start some kind of garage scheme in jersey within 20/30 min of the city.
This forum is kick butt, have learned a ton thus far reading.

You might want to get in touch with Broken Motorsports which is located in Union, NJ mins from Lincoln Tunnel. They might help you build/maintain a car.

Where are all the Irish teams actually located in NY? Not sure if any of them are located in/near NYC, but I'd try tracking some of them down.
good luck!

Irish are mostly in Yonkers. Some of the top teams are now run out of Roumko Rally (moved upstate). Some others keep their cars upstate, some still in Yonkers.
QuattroHaus in Newark is also another option.
As I mentioned on SS, working on your car in NYC area in a rented garage is usually a no-no.
