Is the turbo coolant reservoir supposed to be full to the top or is there supposed to be some room in there?

I'm trying to figure out why the Legacy is vomiting coolant, and apparently there's a TSB that says to replace the caps and make sure that the siphon tube in the overflow tank isn't all the way to the bottom, and to cut the end off it. Well mine was stuck right on the bottom, which meant it was probably sucking up particles and stuff. Sure enough, the underneath of the rad cap was all covered in crud, which probably means the valve isn't opening and instead of drawing back the coolant into the radiator, it's puking it all over the engine. Yay.

So anyway, I sure hope it's that, otherwise we'll be driving the Fiesta to Prescott (Evo needs wheel bearing(s), Corrado is in bits)

God I am so sick of the smell of hot coolant.

F#!$ing cars :kyle: :lol2:

Turbo Coolant resorvoir...the one on top next to the TMIC? That one should be full.

The rad cap up there is supposed to allow pressure to release once it hits a specific psi that I can't remember...when it does, it might spill a little coolant.

Or are we talking about the overflow jug on the radiator? That should have room in the top, and yes, the hose shouldn't be all the way at the bottom.

The one up top by the TMIC should be full, the radiator should also be full if you have a cap on the rad.

The one up top by the TMIC will overflow pressure into the radiator and the plastic overflow.

Cool, thanks! I'll fill it up as well then.
