PSG STI

Hey all,
I've been lurking around the boards for a little while now, and I figured it was about time I introduced myself to everyone (although doing it at work probably isn't the best idea :).
Anyways, I've always been a car guy, but never really knew anything about cars. My first car was a '91 Buick Regal (got it for free, can't beat that!), followed by a '94 Civic (worst purchase, ever...). I finally got into Subarus in '04, when I was looking for an AWD 4-dr replacement for my Civic. I test drove the WRX, was hooked, and didn't have to drive anything else! I'm now onto my second subie, an '07 STi Limited #320. I love this thing, I've had it for over a year now and I still am amazed by it's power!
So how'd I get into rally? Well, I've always enjoyed watching WRC, but never thought there was a way for me to participate. Enter PSG Evo (Gus), who took me along to help marshal at Rally New York. Seeing and hearing fully prepped rally cars up close really got my adrenaline running, and even though I wasn't in the drivers seat, it was an amazing event and I was hooked! I then tasted my first rallyX in at the RallyRPI USNY rallyX last year (in my WRX), and I knew this was something I wanted to continue to do!
Fast forward to this year: I've helped again with two more Rally New York events, and have been promoted to co-stage captain with Gus. We've also hosted this years USNY rallyX and since this year was dry, the course was amazing and by far one of the most fun racing events I've ever been to! However, the STi didn't come out unscathed, and I'll probably be buying a project car for my next rallyX event.
I hope to be able to contribute somewhat to DI as well as learn as much as possible from all the rally enthusiasts, and hopefully we can continue to organize more rallyX events here in New England, because they seem to be in short supply!
- Matt
