I do rallycross and I'm interested in getting some tow hooks for if the car breaks down..whatever. I don't know how to weld, nor do I have welding tools. I have looked at the Beatrush ones on rallysportdirect.com and was curious if any body had used these, or any other tow hook for that matter that you would recommend. Anybody bought any off the web that hold up very good?
Thanks.

I have the one that came with the car that screws into the front bumper. I haven't had to use it yet, but I can't think it will cause any issues.

the stock ones work just fine...trust me;)...however, if you just want more visibility, you've got some options. you could spray paint the stockers and/or you could buy some vinyl tow hook arrow stickers for ya bumpers.

I know about the factory rear one, but there is no factory front tow hook. What are you refering to that screws into the front bumper? Is this an afermarket one?

Dark Performance is a vendor on here, and they make some "higher visibility" tow hooks.

Also you can pickup some tow hook arrows if you want to just stick with the OEM ones for now but add some rally bling to your car. Redline rally has these for sale.

I have used my oem tow hook a couple times... mainly just because it was there and then the other night when I came across a subie (odd I know) that had stalled out in the middle of the road... it works just fine... I didn't use DP for the graffix however... I used Rallygrafix.com and got a pack of 18 for $12... the decal has held up fine... i have been looking into getting some rear hooks and for the front i think I just want to use so Home Depot supplies and custom rig one... but heres a pic of the front hook

^^^ FYI, DarkPerformance doesn't have the towhook arrows, it was Redline Rally that does em.

Mmm, towhooks. Glad my car comes from the factory with 4 huge ones on all 4 corners of the car

@kpearson - What year/model is your car?

There was a recall on the "GC" Imprezas which basically resulted in the front tow loops/tie downs being cut off the car. Apparently people were hitting curbs hard enough with them that they would set off the airbags. If you look under the front of the car, you'll probably see where these were cut off.

If you have something from a later generation (2002+), then look in your tool kit - there is a threaded eye that screws into the front bumper as shown in the picture above.

If you do have to add something because yours were cut off, I personally recommend something like one of these.

Find a good, solid point to bolt it to where you can pull on it from various angles without ripping off body parts.

the "oem" ones will work once or twice when youre in a jam, but the GC's dont have true tow hooks in the front. the hooks you guys are referring to are actually to tie the car down during transport. they're not meant to withstand the shock loads of towing. i dont think it would be an issue if youre not being yanked out of a hole.

looks like the OP has a blobeye, which means if you pull the passenger foglight surround, you see where the tow hook in the tool kit screws into. its not blatantly obvious where it goes, unlike the other GD imprezas.

Mine is an 04 Impreza WRX. I never found any tool kit when I bought my car used...just the lug wrench, jack and spare. See attached image.
