I have a 04 wrx and I want to disable the daytime running lights. I don't need them on all the time and it will wear out the lights quicker.
I saw a post from one of the NASIOC forums were there is a plug under the glove box, but I'm not sure which one(the plug color described didn't match what I have) and I have no clue if this is going to diable something I need. For all I know the person that posted the instructions could have pulled the plug for the DRL and ended up disabling something else important. I just want to confirm that it is one of the plugs under the glovebox.
Thanks in advance.

what i did to disable mine was under the hood theres a litttle sliver box about the size of a box of matches, i unplugged it and zip tied the plug outta the way!

I removed the silver box under the hood. Its right around the air box area and says something like caution hot or something like that on it. Took all of 5 mins to pull it out and I was good to go. IMO they look WAY better w/o the lights on when driving..especially bug eyes like mine..

there's also a big yellow plug under/behind the glove box. that also disables the daytime running lights

Mine in my '04 are disabled (night time lights still function properly) when I pull the ABS fuse, pretty easy and who needs ABS? you just get a few dash lights ("brake" and "ABS")

on my 04 wrx i didnt want lights on the dash but i pulled the glove box (like 9 screws) then disconnected the module right bu the door. its black with a sticker on it that says drl and stuff. its right behind two blue relays that are in the lighting system. i will try to get a pic soon. as far as i know all my lights work like they should! i hate not having control of my car and what its doing and not doing. i wish i could leave my lights on when i turn the car off but its ok for now!

DRLs are there for a reason, leave 'em alone if you're driving on the street. ABS is a really good idea to keep as well. If you're off the road, then do whatever the hell you want.

what would be helpful is if one of these changes (glove box or under hood/airbox) could be wired for an alternate LED DRL.
