Ok.. I am a mechanic.. so I shouldn't be asking.. But @ ford we have computers and thousand page books that tell you step by step (pin point tests...) what to look for, or to replace...

For the past few months Paris has been stuttering going around right hand corners @ high rates of g-force.. Pretty much anytime there is less than 7/8 of a tank of gas.. SO I would imagine maybe a fuel pickup issue... (Also considering the 14 gallon tank has been smashed down to 9 gallons before, and I don't think the pickup was replaced, when the tank was)

However.. I also keep getting some Check engine codes... And have had a continuous Rough Idle, and 10mpg....

Check Gas Cap Tight
Evap Control Systems

Cant remember the #s...

So some people have recommended disconnecting my canister and seeing if maybe that is full of fuel... I have looked for leaks but Couldnt find any fuel leaks.. I was going to take it to work and smoke the system after checking the canister...

Well, anyways, I was going to work ,and was going around a right hand corner.. Engine shut off, and the tyres locked for a brief second... I spun out did about a 270 degree spin and went half way off the road.. Put the car in neutral and pushed it off to the other side of the road... Ended up not starting back up and had to tow it home with the legacy :smitten: she did very well... I'm going to change her name to PRV "Paris Recovery vEHICHAL!...

So Now instead of having the luxury of doing this @ work, on a lift, I am going to have to work on this POS in my driveway...

Just curious as to what People would recommend I do first.. If I could get it started and get it to work that would be awesome, much easier to work in a heated garage with a lift...

Yep.. So Pulled out the fuel pump, (alot easier than I was expecting) and the pickup tube was broken...

So I put a few coats of gas resisitant epoxy on the crack... letting it dry over night and see if it works tommorow!

You might want to keep checking even though that is prolly the cause.

ok... Dropped the pump in the tank after the epoxy hardened for 36 hours.. And now I have 0 Fuel Pressure lol.. All I can imagine is some epoxy blocked the line or got into the pump and siezed it...

So.. Guess it will be a few weeks till I can afford a walboro replacement... They do come witht the pickup right?

Subaru doesn't seem to sell the pick up separate from the pump...

Did the engine sputter at any other rpm or situation?

Sucks to hear man. Hope you can get her fixed soon. At least you have another sub to drive.

Nice! Make sure to do a build thread. It'll be a cool transformation to watch!

It's prolly best that you're getting a new one cause epoxy may contaminate your fuel or break down over time sitting in gasoline.

Its a plastic fuel tank repair kit... Supposedly it resists Oil and Gas... Only reason I used it...

Ok.. got a fuel pump and pickup from a 99rs off a friend... seems to work better, but now I went below a 1/4 tank and its chugging slightly on right handers, but not as bad as it was, so aslong as I keep gas in her she should be fine!

The pickup seems to have a slightly different pickup design, i would say less agressive, I may make some kind of baffle to drop in there to prevent too much sloshing...

I think the engine braking got me sideways, then I must have instinctivly tapped the pedal enough to lock em.. I love not having ABS ;)

It handles soo awesome on this cold pavement! Just keep steering into a corner @ any reasonable speed, and it keeps turning till it breaks the ass loose! Then just floor it and go with it! :)
