Hey all.

Decided to finally join up here. If any of you are on IWSTI you might know me as Dave. I'm one of the admin's over there. I have a bit of an unhealthy obsession with rally... like most of you probably.. I'm one of those guys that gets news from the WRC beamed directly to my laptop as it happens.

Currently I'm in a 2005 2.5 RS. It's experienced the full fury of Western Pennsylvania. Currently the car is on it's 3rd front end, 2nd rear end, 2nd rear passenger quarter panel, 2nd driver fender, 2nd windshield, 2nd hood, and various other bits have been replaced. I've snapped my exhuast clean in two, smashed the car off the grown from going airborne too often, have ripped the stock skid-plate to pieces, and bent several rims.

As you can guess my insurance company just LOVES me. So much in fact they are charging over $300 a month for my RS and will be dropping me in a few weeks.

The car is going to undergo many changes in the next few days actually. I have forester XT springs and struts ready to go on. For winter I have some Dunlop Wintersport 3Ds ready to go on Legacy GT wheels. A stromung dual tip exhaust should help a bit and I currently have a custom designed light bar (similar to the rally-innovations rally car) and 1/4in thick skid plate in the works. Once the light bar is on, there are 4 hella rallye 3000s lined up. Hopefully that'll provide a start.

I plan to head to rally school next summer (money permitting) and hopefully start into competitive rallycross and then...well who knows from there?

I'll try to get some pics of later. The car as it is right now isn't too fantastic. It has borla headers, Prodrive P7s fitted with Yokohama AVS ES100s, a STi hood with Aqua reverse scoop, Hella supertones, Rally Armor UR Limited mudflaps, CB radio, and that's about it.

Welcome. If I might say, although it sounds like you're already Gigi Galli II :D it'd probably make sense to do some rallycross events before you do rally school. It'd give you a frame of reference - context for the instruction if you like - as well as a before/after benchmark (vs other drivers).

Welcome to the boards. Your RS has been through an impressive amount of abuse it sounds like. Glad to hear it is still kicking!
Can't wait to see how the 3000's look on the bar.

Welcome and nice car, just one question...why is it so clean in the pics?

It was so clean because had just recieved a fresh coat of paint on several pieces. Trust me it doesn't last very long. I LIVE offroad so as soon as any rain hits the area, the car has mud splattered all over it. I love that reaction btw. Most forums, I get "dude CLEAN YOUR CAR". Here I get "why isn't it up to the roof in mud splatter!?"

Aaron, it was great meeting you man. Wish it could have been under better circumstances as we were all stressed as hell with SEMA. I'll let you know the next time I'll be out your way.

The car just got the Legacy wheels on it. (Yes I like to experiment with different setups a lot) and I am contemplating taking some time out of my day to put the Stromung exhaust on along with the feux-rally-monte-carlo decals from Subie Invasion 2007. Just waiting on some camber bolts and the forester suspension is going on!
