Probably one of the easiest mods you can DIY
simply grab some scrap aluminum and mark where you need to cut/drill.
I used an aluminum cookie sheet the fiance didn't want anymore, since it was too short for the whole radiator i simply used two pieces.

noob question: what purpose does it serve?
nice work...i have one of those hammers sitting in my garage...

forces air through the radiator that would have gone over the top, also connects it to the frame of the car allowing heat to transfer, I will never notice any of this in practice, but i was bored...
Yeah, that hammer rocks, I'm a framer and have used a LOT of hammers, so far this is my favorite without spending $180 (this one replaced my titanium head/carbon fiber handled hammer that was stolen....gah I hate thieves)

so this would work best for like first and second gear-high rev-temp-racing...
look at that ax handle and all nice i'v done a little framing too the one hammer that i did like was the 22oz "DEAD ON" cheap little hammer but man i liked it. it hangs out in the garage most of the time now.

I had a dead on (The death stick), it was pretty decent, though I couldn't for the life of me get the magnet to stay in the head.

Welll, intuitively you'd think so, but in practice, not really since you're not going very fast and don't have a lot of flow to redirect. The best thing for 1st-2nd gear hi-rev racing (imo): I'd go with a 160 degree thermostat....keeps you at 180, but opens sooner so you avoid the 225 degree spikes.
$60 part, makes quite a difference.
running mostly water with water wetter keeps your temps down too.
The 'DIY' rad shroud looks 'tuff' though......my Crucial Racing shroud basically just looks like bling....but at least it wasn't expensive. $150 shrouds are just a rip-off.

I work at a lumber yard you guys have to check out the Stilleto Tbone for a framing hammer haha. it is solid titanium and retails for around $250.00. not sure how talk of hammers got to happening but thought i would throw my .02 out there. If you like the hammer they also have a $95 cats paw, also solid titanium. k back to cars now haha. Got to love ingenuity.

For some reason I had always wanted a radiator shroud, and knowing it does technically nothing for the most part. Spending even the $40 for the cheaper ones was too much for me.
I've had some stilleto hammers, they're pretty nice, but I have resolved to going back to the cheaper ones after having to replace umpteen hammers because of thieves (the red one in the pic is like $25)
yes back to cars, water wetter, and a lower temp thermostat is the isht.
