Nope, sorry. Won't clear the rear struts. I've got 205/70/15 on mine, and its super close (and yours are an inch larger):

You'd have to swap Forester or Outback struts to run those tires, and even then you'd need some trimming of the fenders.

What about the same tire on '98 RS coupe. I am also willling to add the 1inch lift kit that DI sells for 200$.

The Jackson Rally 1" spacers don't increase the space between the tire and the spring perch, so you can't fit any larger tires without different struts.

General Grabber AT2 205/75-15 26.8". Oh yes they are made.

We need to look at the section width when sizing tires. Changing rim width +/- changes the section width correspondingly and could help with fitment. Read the Tech Articles.

I'm lost with so much info. Would those tires fit on a stock 98 obs?

No. But doing a forester lift, they would
If you want more info on the forester lift, just search. There are tons of threads on it.

So am i to surmise that these tires, the AT's, in their smallest size won't clear the strut spring perch eh?

Forester's perch is higher up eh.

I am on the fence about either forester struts or subtle lift.

Is that OEM Impreza suspension? I'm looking to fit 195/75-14s. Are 14's even an option?

They are heavy at 31pounds a tire though. Also, I think the steel wheels offset is off enough where you cant fit a big tire.
