Forester lift and 225/50/16

I have a Forester lift on my 02 WRX sedan. I also just got new tires, 225/50/16. My issue is that they are soo close in the rear, I can't tell if they're just really close or they rub my rear struts. Has anybody else had this issue? I was thinking about just buying some 3mm spacers.

Are you lifted on Forester springs and struts? That's what I was looking for an answer about, thanks though, lets me know that I was right about my assumption that 225/50/16 doesn't rub on stock springs and struts
