it would be cheaper to buy one already made for your car.. the material to DIY it would prob be just as much as buying one from a shop....

buy a already made one if money is tight.
I spent a ton of money making a Prodrive style skid plate for the rally car.

Sorry about the off topic, but would you happen to have any photos of this?

I looked up a sheet of 1/8th inch aluminum.. cost about 30$ less than what companies (PSG and Rallyarmor) are selling em for... 30$ to have the holes drilled and bends made, sounds good to me ;)

We build custom plates too. Usually 3/16" w/ a steel subframe for GC. They're well proven and have stood up to much stage abuse and various impacts with no issues at all.
1/8" has a harder time handling any load bearing or solid impacts, but ok for light gravel protection or rally X. Wouldn't build a stage rally car w/ less than 3/16.
T6 isn't cheap.. If you want cheap, use a street sign or 2 (seriously), nearly as strong as 1/8".

Just to give you a benchmark of aluminum prices.
A good place to order all sorts of metal stock and sheets from too.

Then before or after you get that precut flat plate, you need to get your bend angles and take it to a shop with a break to have it bent.
A flat plate is not the best arrangement for a skid plate..The bends help give it strength too.
Regardless of the way you tackle it, the material is not cheap.
Another option is to find a used one. I got a used Primitive skid plate from the "other" forum. It was for a Legacy originally. I found the holes I needed were already there. Just had to move the spacers to another location. I think I paid $75. for it. Worth it to me as my time is worth quite a bit.
