so for my legacy i have a set of stock alloy wheels for it and a set of 3 good one bent steelies. which would be better to run for rallyx? i didnt think it would matter to much but wanted some feedback. then tires i gotta get some other ones not full rally tires yet but better. what kinda tread should i look for? like knobby for off road? or water? they dont really make loose dirt tires lol

Run the alloys, they are much stronger.

Tires are class dependent - what class will you be in and where do you live, i.e. what group will you be racing with?

And add another vote for the OEM alloys. I've seen a total of four wheels fail at a RallyX over the years - three steelies and a Rota...

it will probably be the stock class at first but wanna be in the prepared class soon

For stock under SCCA rules, you'll need snow tires. For prepared, you'll eventually need "real" rally tires but should be Ok on snows for a while there as well.

For snow tires, these are a favorite of many and very well priced at that: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Firestone&tireModel=Winterforce

studless right? those wont be hard to find used for cheap thanks. i was also thinking taller and maby wider as long as they still fit on my wheels. i think stock i have 195 65 15s so maby like a 205 75?

Yes, studless.

Since you're likely to be using all of your suspension travel in RallyX, make sure any tire you put on won't rub before you go too big.

No problem :D

+1 for the alloys.
As for tire size, stick to stock size. Your engine won't be able to turn larger tires as easily and will bog down more. Controlled wheel spin is a good thing for loose surface driving.

And another +1 for Winterforces. Cheap, and it's possible to be VERY competitive on them, even in prepared and modified.

Also with snow tires, run higher PSI in them to help prevent a debead.
