Thought I would finally join this site and say hello. I've been a fan of the videos on YouTube, but I also highly respect the fact that you guys are all about playing in the dirt. All my Mitsubishi/DSM bretheren seem obsessed with boring, straight line games, so I figure, if that means I have to be "that guy with the ratty Galant VR4" some of the Dirty Impreza guys talk about from time time, so be it.

If you were at the Johnson Valley rallyx back in March and remember seeing the black Galant VR4 with the guy airing up the tire in the staging line, that was me. The car's been down with severe engine issues since mid-July, but should be back on the road this weekend. I'm getting excited about getting back out on the dirt with it.

I run a couple DSM forums - 2gnt.com and az2gnt.net - but I'm generally lurking about on SpecialStage.com, RallyAnarchy.com, and azawd.org. Looking to get some rallyx action put together in the Phoenix/Tucson region in 2008. Maybe some of you guys with the fast blue cars will show up.

See you around.

Welcome to the forums! Were glad to have you here, are you planning on going to Laughlin? Should be a nice change from driving all the way to JV from Arizona.

Galant VR-4s are awsome, there are some other Mitsu guys running around here too. VR-4s got dirty before EVOs where around, just like Legacys got dirty before the Impreza came out.

Damn! Thanks for the warm welcome, fellas! I checked this thread yesterday afternoon and it was dead. I almost felt sorry for myself. Haha.

I'd love to go to Laughlin, but I'm getting married in Vegas the weekend before. With all the time off I've got set up for that, I can't do both. Rally or wedding. Tough call, ya know?

My goal is to have the Gaylant stage ready in time for Prescott 08. I've recently arranged the sale of the built engine out of of my Talon (a 2GNT) in an effort to fund the rally program. Come spring, I'll be selling the Talon to fund the cage for the Galant.

I should be around to various events after the first of the year. Looking forward to it. Upon disasembly of the engine out of my car, I found that, when I ran JV earlier this year, I had a blown headgasket and two burnt valves. I had to run SM4 because I was using a MBC to get 'er up to stock boost levels. Look to see me back out there in the spring running R4 with the proper "tyres."

Again, thanks for the welcome. I'll be around for sure.

-drive a POS car to work to save on maintenance / gas

Haha. I've considered it. The funny thing is, I was *this* close to completing the "all motor" DSM project. Oh well. At least I have that much more to peddle towards the dream. I'll be driving the POS come spring, imo. I'm hoping to find a decent condition Mitsubishi Mighty Max pick up. I'd like to know my beater could have a 300hp turbo motor in it some day. :P
