I had a blast in the Audi even though I had 3 DNF's haha. If I had been to other events and racked up some points I would have tried harder. But I'll be back, just hopefully in a cheaper car :)

Lori totally BIFFED one on her first or second run. The price of the Corsica was dropped by $50 after that :)

Normally if people hit them, they hit them head-on. They bounce right back up again, too!

PS - The course was changed immediately after Ken went airborne like that in the CRX. Same for the OVR event the next day when Miles got about 2 feet of air in his new OBS. Safety first!

I was using my wife's SD700 point and shoot for both the pics and video. I've been too chicken to take my SLR to any events due to the dust on dry days and the downpours on others.

Did you guys end up getting any fun runs in after the end of the second heat?

I use an ultrasonic USM lens. I didn't even bother using the kit lens this time around.
I do a tad of PP, nothing major. I just adjust the levels, contrast, saturation, and curves. Sometimes I overdo the PP, I can get a little carried away haha.
I do worry a bit about using my DSLR, but its held up fairly good so far.
We ended up not doing any fun runs.
Are you going to be at the November event?

Cool, next time I'm out there I'd like to have a look at your setup. Are you using any filters in front of the lens?

Not sure right now about the Nov event, at least for the 'grale. I've solved the mystery where it was leaking water (some worried it was fuel) from the left rear corner, but I have yet to track down and successfully eliminate some of the more annoying oil seepage. Also I notice that I have a torn CV boot that will need some attention before the next outing.

So does anyone know about this National Trail location? Is it in the parking lot of this dragstrip, or?

Go there and read. There are some pics and stuff posted too, I think.

We ran on an overflow parking field, all grass no gravel or tarmac. Moderate elevation change. It was fast with tight corners in the morning, and fast and rough (crossing over old course) with faster corners in the afternoon. Fields get like that, we're spoiled at S&M :)
