Hey guys, I found this thread on SpecialStage, and check out pages 2 and 3....the "JVAB Super Bitchen Suspenders" (pictures) seem like a really great deal.

If anyone's interested, this has peaked my desire to sell my Bilstein PSS9's with custom Swift springs for funding for a set of these. They also include the original street springs. They fit an 04WRX and corresponding models.
If anyone's interested, PM me.

I really like the PSS9's....especially since I put on the swift springs. great on the road, and good for rallyX as well. I don't bottom out at all anymore. For real stage rally you really just need something thicker (50mm struts) and longer travel for the jumps!
The 'Barret' set up is Barret Dash from the All Wheels Driven team in Portland. He takes a Bilstein set up that he modifies for rally, I don't know what the specs are. I've heard good things about them too, in fact, I talked to him about my custom spring set up on the PSS9's.

Be careful with John. He can talk a big game but I've heard of guys waiting forever for his stuff.
go read the rallyanarchy.com forums. he can be an extremely irascible guy (but he knows his ****).
caveat emptor, in other words!!!

Or the SpecialStage forums.
JVL does know his stuff, but can take a while to deliver. You're dealing with one person who is custom fabricating everything in his spare time.
Make sure YOU know your stuff too. I've heard a couple of stories recently with people getting the JVAB Sooper Boingers and then having to modify them and/or the car because the droop was too long and would have caused axle issues. In other words, get in touch with JVL, talk to him, understand what he's talking about (which can be tough), and make sure what he wants to build for you meets your needs.
Nothing is worse than spending a bunch of money and having a really cool looking part that you can't put onto your car. :(

They seem like a really good deal. I would just be worried about the time and support issue. Maybe if he was local, but when you are dealing with an individual and not a company I think I would like to meet face to face.

I have heard a lot of good things about Barrett's All Wheels Driven Bilstein / H&R coilover. I'm going to leave it at that ;)

IIRC Barret also uses the same housing size - it's a Bilstein 50mm.
JVAB = Bilstein 50mm insert
All Wheels Driven = Bilstein 50mm insert
DMS = 50mm Bilstein insert copy with adjusters that are not very effective.
Prices are all over the board with these. What ever you get Jon, we can do rebuilds on the units no prob..

yeah, I'll either be going with the AWD's bilsteins, or if I go big, it'll be a set of RS&SP's.
JVAB's are definitely out.

That's what I was planning on going with whenever I get more green stuff. I talked to Barrett and he said he has not done anything for an 07 yet and would need to get some measurments. Have not heard from him in awhile though. Will be interested to see them in person.
