Is it one like in the photos? Or a normal roadgoing SX4?

the crossover version with awd.

fab work isn't a big deal. i know its only been out since 09 so im sure parts may be difficult to find.

Right. I thought you'd actually found a rally car - the one in the photos are wide bodied specials - but it sounds like just the regular hatch.

Actually looking closer, the cars in those pics are I think the original SX4 Rally Concept on top and the WRC version under it.

Anyway, its predecessor the Aerio was a great little rallycross car, so assuming it doesn't have any weird traction control crap, there's no reason why the SX4 shouldn't be as well.

As far as parts, RRM has a close relationship with Suzuki and makes a few nice accessories for the SX4:

They're local too...

The awd drive system in those is funny - read the description in the article here: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/car/07q1/2007_suzuki_sx4-short_take_road_test I could easily see it getting seriously confused during a RallyX run so that'd be the first thing you'd have to fix assuming you could do so.

And, as per: http://www.insideline.com/suzuki/sx4/2007/full-test-2007-suzuki-sx4.html - it has a beam rear suspension which will probably work against any power being sent to the rear anyway.

There is a guy on here from NJ that rally-xs a Suzuki Aero. I can't remember his user name though. Any small 4wd or Fwd car is pretty much going to make a decent rally-x car. Remember Rally-x comes down to Driver skill more than anything else.

That was the older Aerio model - it weighs something like 500 lbs less than the newer SX4.

Wow, that is tragic... I had high hopes for the SX4 as a mini-Subie.
