key stuck in ignition

i went to take my key out of the ignition and it wont turn back to lock on the colum and the sterring wheel dosent lock anymore has this happened to anyone before and can it be fixed without buying a new ignition? 1995 2.2L impreza

Have you tried moving the steering wheel back and forth to dislodge the key? ( i know its a dumb question, but we gotta cover the bases...)

Is it a Ford? The key is stuck in the Crown Vic.

i tryed to move the steering wheel, and i of course put it in park. but it still will not turn back to LOCK on the ignition. the keys just stuck and to add to the problem i dont have a spare key to be able to lock the car up at nite so its pretty mutch a sitting duck untill i can get it out. but no one better get any ideas :punch:

its a impreza mfg date is 11/94 its a 2.2l auto 4-door awd forrest green and still no luck i thinkin about having a lock smith make me a new key so i can atleast lock the car up at nite and just leave the key there kinda like a permanent ignition switch.

What you can try to do is squirt some tri flow or some other type of lube in there and turn it a few times... and that should work. I did it on my moms PT
