More filtering in as time comes on. No Subaru pics yet, but there were a few there including a couple turbo GCs.
Orion was there with his GC 2.5RS, hitting the rev limiter in 2nd gear!
I saw a few Evos in action. All I have to say is    Rear end squatting like you wouldn't believe, accelerating faster than the STis, and all you can hear is the sound of a four wheel burnout on gravel *at speed*. They've got to have way more than 271hp, or at least they have better gearing or something.
Oh and some guy won M2 by almost a full minute in some p.o.s. RX-7 thing, but that's not important...

Did you get any of my wagon by any chance?
and, are you on just about every forum on the planet? LOL
I thought it was a great event though the timing of setting off cars got a little tight there in the afternoon.
I've ridden along in the white EVO last time out at fowlerville. It is FAST.
Yeh, not important. Good job though.

Yes I am on every forum :)
The T&S issues... I didn't have much of a problem, I think fortunately because the group of cars I was in was close, all running similar times.
Shoot cars through every 1.5 minutes on schedule when there's a slow car on course, and it takes 2 1/2 minutes to do 2 1/2 laps and the start is a half lap from the finish, and there's going to be problems, yeah. A 2 minute start would have helped, or maybe just more coordination between start control and finish control, or maybe even seeding the cars so the fastest ones are on course first. I dunno, it's not my gig.
The night laps were AWESOME, though. I cannot stress that enough!

Timing and scoring was fine. Timing when to start was the issue. Don't want to annoy T&S people, they were great.
They figured it out pretty quickly I think.
Yes, the night runs were AWESOME and I seemed to like them though I would have preferred 2.5 laps. More cones would have died however.
Next rallycross is day/night too, only darker. Bring lights, both for your car and for your parking spot.

Yes, "Reckless Ron" is a blast to watch. He has no one else in his class so he just drives round as fast as he can trying to swing the tail from one edge of the course to the other. The rear must cover twice as many miles as the front.

I would bring my Crown Vic out, but it's not street legal. :(

Or put some police cruiser lights on it and no one will care.

And, no, I *don't* ever release my left hand from the steering wheel :D
I was going to give you a call on Sunday when I awoke to a flat ZER80. Torn bead. I remembered that I have no money, and you have no more sufficiently good ZER80's (in that size at least) so I repaired the torn bead with a heat gun and vulcanizing compound.
I really do credit those Michelins. They seem to grip much harder than the Silverstones and Kumhos. Too bad they're hard to find. (Good Kumhos are still better than shredded Michelins!)

Man that RX-2 photo is really sweet.. mmmmmm... '70s rally style..

10-16-2007, 05:03 PM
I just got in a set of 14/62-15 Michelins. Interested no money cricket?
That's like 175/70x15 for you street tire types.
noisycricket
10-16-2007, 05:08 PM
They'd be goofy with the smaller size on the rear, and I will NOT run the current soft-compound fronts on the rear because they'll last about two runs.
Plus those big huge tires just plain work, even though they need big inner fender cutting :)
Team Illuminata
10-16-2007, 05:16 PM
What size are yours? I might have one you can use, cheap, very cheap.
noisycricket
10-16-2007, 05:29 PM
16-65-15.
I might need 17-65-15's in the rear next year, though!
Team Illuminata
10-16-2007, 05:55 PM
I have one 16/65-15 left. You can see it at:
http://www.teamilluminata.com./Shop/UsedTires.htm
If you want it it's yours for $0. Consider it an unnoficial Team Illuminata Fowlerville contingency. You'll have to figure out how to get it though.

And it's a right side tire, too. Argh. If the fix doesn't take, I'll find a way of getting up there to pick it up... thanks man!

Really? I thought JV3/JV4 was a morning/afternoon thing rather than at night. Of course Tombstone regularly ran way into the night....
I'd definitely be up for night time JV, that'd be cool - run pm, run evening, camp and bail the next morning. Kinda a different idea..
+1 on the Crown Vic.. makes me wanna bring a rental towncar out :D
