getting my quarter panel fixed is going to be a cool $1,000...already got the quote today. A bit more than I wanted to pay, but that includes matching the paint and getting it done right.

I emailed the guy and asked him why there's no engine (I noticed he's parting out the engine, which is no longer in the car), and what the front end looks like. If I did buy it, it'd sit around for a while....but damned it tempting.

Plus, I see so much WRX stuff on my local craigslist, I could just wait around and find everything I need (used) pretty cheap.

I voted to go look at it. But $1500 sounds great even if the front end is totally smashed. Like you said you can prob. get him to come down a little on the price. If I had room to store it I would help you out (I could use some wagon spares!!)

Go take a look, at least. The lack of front in the pics is curious - if the front end is mangled and it's been totalled, then the hassle you'll have with the DMV probably isn't worth it (btdt). But yeah, you could sell the visible parts in that photo for more than 1500 if you had the time and patience.

There's something fishy about it though..

Ha.. my 6-yr old walked by, saw the ad and immediately said "It's WRX not WX".

It is a car that I raced against at all of the hill climb. I just barely beat him in season points.

He won the time attack class at Pike's Peak.

And third place P-GT at the colorado cog rally.

There was a yellow WRX wagon (probably the same one?) at Laughlin last year too, dunno how well they did but it was cool to see.

I talked to the guy last week...the front end is definitely 'effed up, he got it in an auction, so the title is salvage. He said the engine is fine (????) but the front end is missing the hood, probably the radiator, etc. I guess I'd have to go check it out, but between replacing the hood, bumper, radiator, hoses, fenders....FRAME? I dunno.
