So i just go a 1995 impreza 2.2 awd for $600 bucks with a bad transmission the front diff was broken inside and had metal shavings.. I just got a new one the other day from a pick and pull , I pulled the old one out of the car and put the new one in last night .. the car starts goes into gear but feels like it is sliping just like a 5 speed would feel like if the clutch was going out ...I did use the old torque converter , dont know if that could be it?

any ideas would really help im stuck right now..:machinegunleft:

Welcome to the forums Cash95Impreza... this is more of a technical question so i've moved your thread into the appropriate forum.

I'm not sure what could be causing that exactly. Hopefully someone will be able to chime in with an answer...

Shift your trans through all of the gears repeatedly especially through R, P, & N. This will ensure that the air is bleed out of the lines completely. Then check your fluid to ensure it's full. If you still have the same problem, it's either your TConverter or the trans....
Hope this helps.

Thanks Kurt very helpful info, i was low on fluid .. i didnt know that the Tconverter needed about 3 qrts .. it fills the TC when the transmission starts to pump and move.. 95 2.2 takes 8.3 qrts and 1.qrt of Royal Purple 75/90w gear oil in the front diff..
