Tax discs are the UK equivalent of registration tags in the US, but instead of a sticker on your license plate they are a paper disc that is displayed in the inside corner of your windshield (or windscreen since it's the UK :) ). Usually they're held in place with a window sticker which has an appropriately-sized circular space, but you can seriously increase your bling-factor with a holder like those :D
