Well, the only reason i was out of the game was because i had my carbon fiber driveshaft in. Since getting a skidplate that would protect the entire thing would take a few weeks, i just decided to remove it and put the stocker driveshaft back in (I a rallycross school coming up in a few weeks).

So naturally since could go play in the rocks and dirt again, I did after snowboarding with a few of my buddies over the weekend. Only a quick 5 minute romp, since it was in a place that had lots of people around and they'd probably call the cops. hahaha. This was the result.

CF driveshaft?? Woohoo!!!

What will the skidplate be made from?

I love it when dirt and pebbles get stuck to the wheel like that.

yeah, the CF driveshaft is an awesome mod that very few people have (its not a real good one for offroad driving, more for street / track use) but you feel awesome response across the entire powerband.

There are a few companies that make custom full skidplates out of thick plastic... I'm trying to get one made right now...

UHMW?

?

UHMW is a plastic that is used for underbody skid plates... High abrasion resistance and good impact strength... but I think its a little bit more expensive than aluminum (6061)

UHMWPE is Ultra High Molecular Weigh Polyethylene

It is Polyethylene. It is used for machining. it is like super hard mudflap material.

.25" should protect you from just about anything.

do a google for "UHMWPE Sheet"
