There are obviously a ton of options for exhaust on turbos but any one have suggestions for what to do with an exhaust on my 2.5 na to gain a bit more power and maybe get some growl out of her? I have seen a few headers out there, should i do header, cat back, the whole thing? oh and it is the daily driver so it has to be semi legal... just enough to sneak past NY inspection:twisted:

Exhaust will help a little but not a whole lot. If you want the growl than a Borla or Borla replica header is the way to go combined with a catback. Equal length headers offer more power but makes Subarus sound like Hondas. I also put a track pipe on mine for race days which makes my car sound even more wicked, almost like a Buell!!:twisted:

+1 to everything he said.

dont think theres too much i can add to this, other than that even with the equal length (EL) headers, you wont feel any noticable gains really, so if i were you i would go with the unequal lengths (UEL), so you can sound all rumbly and whatnot.

what i was told when i was new to subies asking this question is:
boxer + UEL = a harley + hemi lovechild
