Use either your stock struts ot STI takeoffs. STKI takeoffs would be ideal.

STI take offs are struts that came off of stock STI's that the owner replaced with a different strut or coilover. I believe 04 is the year to get as if I remember right the rears changed for 05+, but I could be wrong. Any subaru dealer can get them, but subaruparts.com and subarugenuineparts.com tend to be the cheapest.

If you're planning on buying STi struts for rallyx, you might want to think about this:
Ive gone through two sets of STi struts this year because i beat the crap out of them. Yes they are cheap, but if you just man up and spend the money on a good set of coilovers (maybe something that can be rebuilt) then you'll save yourself some money in the long run. Not to mention not having to listen to blown clunking struts all the time...
.... i think i've almost gotten used to the sound!

For October I am setting up a sale on Pedder's Suspension for off road use.
they make struts and coil-overs.

ive never heard of pedders suspension.
i know i should bite the bullet and get coilovers but i dont want to spend that much at this time.
i will look into the sti struts.
i have some 04 tops hats on the way and i think i need some spacer also to make it work which i still need to order and maybe camber bolts because the wagon sucks at negative camber.

Cheap and suspension do not mix. I run my stock struts and springs at the moment. I plan on upgrading to STi Pink springs, and Koni inserts. This setup will give you a great strut, and stiffer springs with a minimal drop. Total cost is around 1k assuming you do it all yourself.

i consider 1k cheap suspension compared to the godly dms suspension set ups.
i have sti pinks springs and 04 top hats on the way. all i need now is to figure out what struts and how to make it work on the wagon without suffering too much alignment problems that i have read about.

Just a heads up, you may run into problems with having a wagon and using sedan struts. I know 06drtywgn tried to swap in some STi struts onto his wagon (05 STi to 06 wagon) and they don't work up front. Rears went in fine, the fronts not so much... Earlier model wagons may be different, just make sure it's all the same before buying!

I believe 04' STI will work, just not 05'.

i thought 04-05 were the same. le sigh. i almost wish i didnt buy a wagon....almost.
i know the wagons have a shorter track or something. from what i read most struts will fit such as agx, gr-2, koni, ect but with camber issues.
im getting to the point that i will buy whatever works just so i can stop riding on stocks and i so i can throw an exhaust on.
i refuse to let my first mod be exhaust.

04/05 are not the same, there was a change in the struts for 05 on the STI models only. That is why I mentioned the 04 STI struts.
You could always just buy brand new STI struts from a dealer or online store like I posted above. That would really be you best bet to avoid issues since STI makes a strut kit for non STI's which will fit your wagon.

Only problem with STi struts/springs is that it will drop it a good amount.

Pedders and cheap do not go together.
I am running there coil-overs which tip the budget at a little over $2000.00 but there struts will handle the rally-x without a problem. for the GC cars they make a stock height stiffer spring that works great for dirt driving.

Dunno if it has been mentioned...
KONI inserts :D
not Cheap, But probably your best bet untill you can afford good coilovers!
If y'aint got the $$ then just cruise on Stocks till you can afford something better.... If they are completely blown just buy some KYB GR2 for now and save up...
