View Full Version : New tires for my OBS.
Well, they're in the mail, due tomorrow or Monday. My lift kit finally got here after 2 years of flirting with, discussing, researching, hang ups, etc. . . It's a 2 inch prototype, that will fit 90-99 leg and 93-01 impreza models. Before I put it on, I'm gonna be talking with a local Soob lift kit guy to see if he wants to duplicate it so it acn be available. So I have to wait a minute longer. Whatever.
These are the tires I decided on. I figure'd I'm not gonna do much mudding, but probably plenty of dirt and snow. I can keep these on the car without worrying about the mileage I'm putting on them. BFG ATs minimum size is 225/75/15, a bit bigger than my gearing will be happy with.
I chose 205/75/15.
What say you guys?

2 inch lift! sicky! I had a chance to check out 06drtywagn's 1" spacer setup, and that was pretty tight. Those tires are going to be pretty tough on a little ol' L!

hehe. But can he do this? It's already some 3-4 inches taller because of the LegOB strut/spring swap, the bigger tires give it another 2 inches. I'm going up two more inches with the lift kit. Body off of the suspension.

its...different
its...different
Well yeah, that's what I'm always aiming for. I hate going to Subaru Shows (I organized 3 of the 9 West Coast Subaru Shows so far) and seeing cookie cutters. "Oh look, there's a bunch of blue ones, there's some white ones, there's some silver ones." Only minor things tell them apart, like the brand of FMC, or the color of the wheels, or just how dark the tint is. . .
Nasioc bugs me for just those reasons.
Different indeed.

Different is what its all about. Looks good Zap.
I'm headed down to Hilsboro, Oregon to run it in the ORG Rally X this weekend. We'll leave the hot rod 2.5 brighton home and take my OBS instead. We'll run it twice each, once in Prepared AWD with the new ATs, and once in Modified AWD with the mud tires. (Far right in the pic below) It should be very muddy when we're done.
Hoping to win the muddiest impreza award next month.

Dammit, with snow in the forecast for this weekend and seeing your pics now my figurative wheels are turing. Lifting my little OBS and throwing the snows for my wifes Caravan......hmmm. Bet that I could have some serious fun this winter. You're getting that much lift just from the OB suspension?
