how about brown? or a really bright yellow or green. bronze, gold and black are used allot. that is why for my winter wheels I went with charcoal grey with a blue lip

Very nice!
+1 for doing it right with the tires off as well.

I've painted rims with the tires on... you can brush the paint right off of the rubber, with a tire brush.
Of course i had always used black. gold might be a bit more noticable if you miss a spot...

i painted my 16" WRX wheels w/the tires on. i just used large pieces of old graph paper i had layin' around from high school to wedge in between the rims and the sneaks. took a while to do, but was better than luggin'em to a tire shop and payin' to have the sneaks dismounted then luggin'em back to have'em remounted and balanced.
the sneaks were off these wheels cuz' i sold'em a few days after pickin' up the wheel/tire combo from IllNastyImpreza on NASTYSOCK.

Looks like they came out nice.
I'm wondering, where did you find the wheels? I need some 15's for my studded tires too. Winter is coming!

i snagged'em from a guy on NASIOC. "rally fast" on rs25.com has a few sets of these exact wheels for sale too though. hit him up!

Another easy way of painting rims with the tires on is to spread petroleum jelly on the tires. Just spray em and wash the jelly off. Your tires will be a bit shiny after that too.

looks really good, Im coming up with some sort of graphics/paint idea for my obs. Im thinking a light sky blue for wheels....these would be the tarmac wheels as gravel pretty much has destroyed the rattle can jobs. has anyone had any luck with something else for rally wheels?
I powder coated mine, I guess I'm baller!

Powder coating is the best thing for dirt.
but even that gets trashed. The stock paint on my Speedlines is starting to look pretty bad up close. I may get them powder coated in the future to get the bling back.

define expensive
I have seen from $50-$200 a wheel so it depends on who you know. I know no one is my problem.

that bronze color looks good. much better than the duplicolor bronze, which is too mark IMO.
I am waiting for someone to paint their wheels JDM green or Cherry Blossom Red. it just must be done.
