Might as well get the 20mm, you'll feel a difference with the 17mm, but a 20mm is just as easy to find and practically the same price, no reason not to get that instead.

I also 2nd the 20mm bar. It'll work well for rallycross, and you can always disconnect it if you decide you want to try without.

I picked up the adjustable swaybar kit 19-21 (I think) from Rallitek (IPD ?) and took it off pretty soon after I did a lift. I'm in Greeley, CO. Not so far unless you're in Spearfish. Mine wouldn't be that much cheaper than new though.

but will the 20mm be to big for daily driving?

nothin' cheap about suspension upgrades, bigger rsb leads to better rear endlinks/mounting brackets and bushings-also you might as well get new front endlinks to balance everything out.

why you want rsb anyway? you can save up for the rsb if you really want it but for now upgrading front and rear endlinks are a big improvement over the crappy plastic ones.

hit this (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1874602) guy up and see how much he wants for his rear sway bar according to this (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showpost.php?p=14638977&postcount=42) they should be 20 mm

FHI 20 mm rear sway bars are stock on GD WRXs, so just look for wrx guys that are selling off stock parts. The first one I got cost me $20 and the second one was free.

PS: The difference in handling between upgraded end links and a RSB aren't even comparable. End links will tighten things up whereas a RSB will transform the way your car handles by killing much of the understeer. Dollar-for-performance the FHI 20mm RSB is the best handling-based upgrade you can do to a first gen Impreza.

hey man, the stock 20mm WRX RSB fits our GCs but you need to hollow out your bushings because the bushings and bushing mounts for the WRX are way different.

i might be able to set you up with a guy who possibly has one if you want me to.

he's on RS25, but i could possibly send him here, or you can become a member there, lots of good information about our older style imprezas.

That person is mistaken. I got my 20 mm RSB off a '05 WRX owner and it bolted right up to my old '00 RS.

Here you go...

http://www.rs25.com/forums/f9/t39583-stock-fsb-rsb-sizes.html

I may be the one that was mistaken. That link says they changed the GD WRX RSB to 17mm mid-03, so the guy I got mine from must have upgraded his to a 20 mm then upgraded again to an adjustable Whiteline, then sold me his old 20 mm.

Well, you learn something new every day.

97impreza43, that link you posted earlier, the one to the interchangability of bits on NASIOC; in there RacecompEngineering posted a link to their version of the interchangability of bits throughout the years and it's much more thorough. I bet you'll find the answer to your endlinks question in there.

its a wrx bar with STi mounts. the mounts bolted up no problem, and are way stronger than the origanal L mounts.

Never mind i found an answer about sti RSB question on another forum (they wont fit).
But still should i get the front one if i'm going to go with a wrx 20 mm for the rear?

STi RSB WILL, and i repeat WILL fit on a GC impreza, you just need to mount on the outside of the endlinks, so i do not know if it will work with aftermarket endlinks, but it works FANTASTIC on my RS.

any turbo model FSB will not work with an NA car.
