I was talking with a co-worker, the conversation strayed to shifters ... mainly the lever thats in the cabin.

Turns out he had some he wasnt using and like 5$ later I owned 2. They are little guys, like maybe 2in. long with treaded top and a treaded collar on the bottom ...

& guess what . The tread pitch is tha same. I had to loose the boot, looks a little more like a real rally car ! ( ... the wagon needs all the help it can get. )

The throws are a little longer, but the height is perfect. I guess its time to buy a cobb short throw adjutable lever.

Good thing, I been saving all sorts of money with my cheap mods ...

.... do you know how to cut and weld? Get some pipe and extend it up and make the bottom part longer too

if your aim is GHETTO... get the pipe and some crazy glue or epoxy and some ducttape for looks :D No joke... I have done exactly this to two of my cars...

You can extend it up so it is closer to the steering wheel...

Just measure the ratio between top and bottom before you cut and aim for a ratio that is about equal for the same movement or less for less movement...

Yes. I own all sorts of air tools & have access to a welder @ work . I would like to weld up something, but motivation is my problem. ( read : lazy )

+ most of my free time seems to be spent, on working on other peoples cars, ( and those ALWAYS HAVE to be done right . ) so the last thing I want to do is send alot of time on mine. So I favor the quick and easy "mods" for mine .
