Last week I tried one as a muffler, and it did not sound good.
Straight pipe sounds better (and loud).
I ended up using a stock stainless steel resonator off my old talon, quieter and sounds better, less raspy.

I had a thrush 28 in glasspack and loved it. It wasnt loud enough. Straight pipe all the way.

If you have the resources, make your own. Then you have control over the packing and size.

make your own glasspack? never heard of such a thing.
and i actually went this route and already replaced it with an OBX-R Type H catback.

EXAMPLE: Lets say you are making a 2 inch exhaust. Take 28 inch of 2 inch piping. Measure 1 inch off of each end and mark it. Now with the middle 26 inches, mark out a pattern of holes and drill them. The more the better. Now take some Stainless Steel Wool and wrap it around the 2 inch piping covering only the holes drilled. Take some fiberglass sheets and wrap it around the stainless steel wool. Take a 26 inch x 2.5 inch pipe and slide it over the fiberglass. Take some 1/16 flat sheet of stainless steel and draw out a 2.5 inch circle with a 2 inch circle exactly in the middle. You need to make two of these. Cut them out of the sheet then cut out the inner 2 inch circle. Weld the two plates to the ends of the 2.5 inch piping. You now have a muffler. You can control the sound by how much packing you put in it.
