They're here....they're finally here!!!
from 'RalliSpec' on ss.com
Well the single adjustable "entry-level" RS&SP gravel suspensions are available now. The pricing is split into two categories for the Subaru. Suspensions with macpherson-type struts all around such as GC8 and GD Impreza are going to be $2850. Suspensions that utilize a rear shock such as MY08+ Impreza are $2450. The pricing ended up a little higher than we were originally anticipating but I think that they had put out some numbers originally that were over-optimistic and decided they couldn't hold to them. But you still get an amazing value for the money that simply cannot be beat. A tarmac version should be available at some point as well.
The differences to the standard RS&SP suspensions for the Subaru are:
1. No external reservoirs.
2. Single damping adjustment which adjusts both compression and rebound simultaneously.
3. Smaller diameter front shaft diameter (51mm instead of 55mm)
4. MY08 uses a snap-ring to locate the adjustable spring perch with multiple snap ring grooves to alter height adjustment. This is in place of a conventional threaded perch.
Otherwise they use very similar materials, design details, etc. Springs are supplied in the same rates as standard RS&SP's and are a similar main/helper spring arrangement except on shock absorber types which have no rear helper spring arrangement.
Currently RS&SP is producing these suspensions for all Impreza model years as well as Forester from MY09 on. They will make them for EVO and other models that they currently are producing suspensions for and will also consider input from us if we feel they should develop something for a model not currently supported.
even the GC's get some love'n!!!
