View Full Version : Hello dirtyimpreza.com!
Hi.
First post. I'm a long time Soob enthusiast. I've had may Soobs, maybe 30 or so in the last 7 or so years. Yeah.
I dig the site.
Here's my subbmission. 96 OBS at the West Coast Subaru Show #8.
(I hosed the wheels after the mud hole to save the brakes, 4 hour drive home)

Welcome. Nice Pics. 30 in 7 years, Damn. Can you elaborate a little? What happened to all of them?
Edit: Sorry. Didn't know you were still posting.
Gimme a minute. ;)
Here's a vid I found of the car at the ORV park earlier this year. Half ass, but you get the point. I posess video of me in the car beating Ken Block at a Rally X, but am not sure how to get it on line. It's on my iPod though. hehe

Looks like fun conditions in those pics :D
I've built a bunch of the older ones into offroaders. They all got sold. They went to: Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Texas, So.Cal and Idaho again.
I actually went to Idaho last June and bought back one of my old Brats. I'll post about it in the appropriate forum.
I've had plenty of other SOobs, GLs, Legacys and the like, but I always got bored of them.
Another of the imp.
It's got 96 Legacy Outback struts and springs that give it about 4 inches of lift. A 2 inch lift kit is on the way, I'll put it in a 2 door. Should lok pretty cool with mudders on it. An older 5speed Dual range will give me a little bit better gearing.

Baddass!
Look into swapping in Outback XT or Forester XT struts and springs for a couple more inches of lift. My impreza's rear diff sits at 11 inches. Stock for a 96 is 6.5.

As compared to my wife's car. (We got rid of the 14s. don't worry. lol )

I had super swampers mounted on wheels for it for awhile, but swapped them onto rims for the Brat. It can use them better.

i owned a brat back in the day. true 4wd
I've had a bunch. The blue one in the pic above is nice enough that I had to go buy it back when I had a chance. It'll get the body work it needs and a repaint hopefully next month.
Here's the lifted ones I've had.

The BRAT is effing awesome! I am amazed at how much clearance you have from that rear diff to the ground on the wagon. So sweet!

I used to be on UltimateSubaru back in the day, when I had a Loyale, and GL (2003)... I've become a post whore and abandoned that site since then...
Nice scoobs!
