I bought this car as a spur of the moment impulse, which is generally a bad way to buy a car- but not so much when it's a $900, 100,000 mile, unkillable Subaru!! Marshall (Zebrasinamerica) and I were out test driving a jeep when we saw it sitting on the lot. We'd seen it before on a different lot, but assumed it belonged to an employee because it was sitting off to the side. Turns out it was off to the side because it's ugly as sin  I was really on the lookout for a 5 speed wagon instead of a manual car, but for $900 I couldn't pass it up!
It's a base model 1995 Impreza coupe, despite the fact that the trunk says it's an Impreza L. We think it was in an accident and the replacement trunk was off an L, because there's no way that's right- it's a 1.8 automatic, and the automatic L's only came with the 2.2. So yeah, my car has an identity crisis.
One week and $1100 worth of repairs later (all the valves, plugs, belts, power steering pump, etcetcetc), the old girl's back in my driveway. So I added its first mods:

SCCA sticker's a little wonky because it's covering up the big nasty paintless place on the bumper.
Best car ever. More pics when I'm not rushing off to work.

An amusing update: I stopped at a gas station on the way up to work, and I came back out to find a pack of teenage boys inspecting my car. I asked what the heck they were doing, and they proceeded to ask if it was a 'race car'. They apparently thought the DI stickers were some sort of sponsor logo, and the Rallycross one only fueled their imaginations. I told them no, but I really think I should've messed with them now...
Hilariously, no one had given my car a second look before. I guess a beat-up, hubcapless, faded old Scooby is legit if it has professional looking stickers ;)
Silly rednecks.

cool find. the 95s all seem to have identity crisis. From what i remember the LX was the only impreza to get the 2.2l in 95 in 06 other sedans/coupes got it. Also the LX only came with an auto there was not option for a manual. it is crazy how many people are buying up these green Ls. my car is starting to feel popular again!
I am looking forward to see what you do with it.

I'll definitely be there with it, martinus! We get to try out a new class too- SF!
Oh crap, I'll reeeally get killed in that one, won't I ;) I'm just out there to have a blast, though, not to win, so I don't mind a bit.
Had our first battle damage today! Some punk hit the back bumper in a parking lot- the dent's not big, but the paint's shattered to about halfway down the bumper! The SCCA sticker's holding most of it on...

Use more stickers . LOL. I have some extra Grassroots motorsport ones ... or better yet. Find some of the huge bandaid stickers that roadracers and drifter use.
SF , Isnt that Allen'ss class... Quick find an AWD drive line. :D

Yep, like I said, I'm screwed  I'd AWD this car in a heartbeat, if I could afford it!
