Frankfurt 2007: Subaru Impreza WRC Concept

Okay. We're completely and utterly dumbfounded. We just got back from the Subie-booth and after rummaging through the press CD for ten-minutes, we found exactly ONE sentence about the Impreza WRC Concept. That sentence reads: "The Concept Car, based on the new Impreza, conjures up images of future styling trends for a world rally car."

That's it folks. No word on power output or new all-wheel-drive wizardry, but we think it's safe to assume a blown two-liter flat four sends power to all four wheels via some revised drivetrain software. In the meantime, enjoy the 36 images in our gallery below.

I like it. I would love to drive that car at a RallyX or on a gravel road. Just not with those tires.

I wonder how much shorter tan the wagon this is?? It sure looks like a wagon more than a hatch.,... well at least to me... I am looking forward to it though, I am so sick of not seeing us score podiums in all he wrc events

All I have to say is that I like the sedan and the wagon combo. I also miss the fender flairs on the sedans. I wish Subaru would stop trying to fix a car that hasnt been broken since the 90's.

I too miss the fender flares. I wish they would make them bigger than they used to be.

This certainly looks better than the 08 production WRX. This one actually has a bit of front fender flar where the regular WRX has none. I think if they added flares to the rear then this hatch would look pretty damn good. Hopefully the production STI will look more like this and less like the regular WRX hatch.
