So today, Me, Redline Rally and Blix666 did a some major mods to the Redline Rally project car. 2.5 RS Nose, H&R lowering springs and KYB AGXs and a WRX rear swaybar. It was documented for science. I was also playing with my New DSLR. Oh yeah and this is my Garage HQ.

it'd be nice if your father'd break down already and get some climate control in there! god, it was like *95 in there. does he really expect us to work under these conditions frequently?!

not even one comment on the headband either, i'm surprised!

I too, am suprised on the lack of "Brow Band" comments...

Anyhow, yes it was a very good day. We got a ****-ton done (Bumper & Beam, all 8 front lights, rear swaybar, all 4 struts, changed all the gear fluids) in only 4.5 hrs!

I could not have gotten this done under a few weeks even if I had the space to do it. I owe Blix, DrewSTI and his dad HUGE thanks for their help & space.

Paintjob coming up pretty shortly. Will post some more pics then.

Tint, graphics and wheel paint to follow.

WTF....how come no one in NorCal has a garage set up like this? I swear, sometimes I think I'm in only suby addict in San Francisco.

awesome set up! How come I didn't see any empty beer cans laying around?

Question: why lowering springs?

Drew84
09-11-2007, 01:08 PM
Yeah, we didn't have any beer. I mean it was like 95 degrees I think we each drank 10 bottles of poland spring water.

RedlineRally

I *can't stand the tast of beer*, personally. It was way too hot to drink anything but soda and water. I think the humidity level killed us more though...

Lowering springs because I'm getting into Auto-X. Rally-X is too hard on a daily driver, and I'd rather spend my money on business equipment than car repair. :)

ah, got it...thought this was a rallyX car. In that case, nice work!

Thanks.

One day I'll have a beater-mobile. Give it time... give it time.

when will you guys be convinced that AX is harder on your car than RX.

dirt provides necessary slippage for all those internal awd parts, and other suspension and running gear goodies, tarmac=grip=broken bits, paint doesn't need fixage, other stuff does.

geezzzz

RedlineRally

I'd love to take 2 vehicles, brand new, dedicate 1 to AX and 1 to RX, and see which one lasts longer.

to have a garage that size in SF with a lift would probably cost $1M. Stupid no space in the city!

wow andrew...your garage has jacked this thread quite effectively! you should create a member journal for your garage!

btw...although it contains almost everything imaginable you may need to work on a car, it's damn near impossible to find anything in this garage. drew and his father are the only people that know where stuff is and even then sometimes drew can't find stuff. he had a tantrum over not being able to find brakleen or electrical parts cleaner, after the can he found was empty! lol

RedlineRally
09-11-2007, 04:57 PM
It wasn't a tantrum over not being able to find it... it was more the fact that his father suffers from the "Empty milk jug" syndrom... of putting things back on the shelf even when they've run out. :)

But yeah, nice garage. Oh, he's got 2 lifts in there, by the way. You only see 1 of them in the pics. There's another to the left of the Mits-clipse. :)

well considering that 90% of the time Team O has to replace tie rods, control arms, etc is when people run into banks, and those are normal wear and tear items that break often on stock cars, I'll go with my husband (the mechanic's) mechanical aptitude that tarmac is rougher than dirt!

end hi-jack and that garage does rock!

I've never broken anything auto-xing in my Honda or Suby. I've only done cosmetic damage to the Suby rally-xing. Anyway heres a pic of the lift . It will lift 8000 pounds.

A very cluttered pic of the garage. My Dad is a bit of pack rat. I have to through stuff out when hes not around.
