Ok, well I finally got my Turbo back exhaust on and ordered my turbo inlet pipe.
Car currently has the following mods....
Cobb Tuning Intake
Perrin Afta Maf tube,
Cartboy Shifter and Bushings
Helix Catted Down Pipe
Mad Dog Mid Pipe
STI catback...
Where should I go now after turbo inlet?
Tune?

what turbo are you running? honestly, you really should stay with the stock turbo inlet (and MAF) unless you're running a FP20g or bigger.
Do you have EM (engine managment) for the downpipe? You should at least be running a Cobb Access port, stage 2 with that set up. If you're not, that's definitely the next step. (you can't get a pro-tune with out some kind of EM as well....cobb, ecutek, etc)
If you are......you want better tires for a next step. And/or upgrade brake rotors/pads. Going fast is good, but not necessary, stopping is always necessary.

+1 for the cobb accessport.
Since your running a catted DP, you probably aren't having any boost creep issues... but at the same time could be making a lot more power.

I was told I should get an up pipe inlet then a tune...
cause I know a guy that specializes in Tuning the 2.0... and its the stock turbo...
Someone mentioned a boost solenoid...
But can't seem to find one...
I really appreciate the responses guys and gals, keep em comin!
thanks

don't worry about the boost solenoid, not necessary at this point.
You have an 05, so an uppipe will help, but ONLY if you have EM. and like I said before, you can't get a tune anyway without an accessport or ecutek. you can probably pick up a cobb accessport on ebay for cheaper than retail, I did like 2 years ago, paid $100 less and it works great.
just so you know, you're probably around 230 maybe 240hp (at the crank) with your mods.....with a cobb accessport, stage 2, you'll be closer to 280hp. With all that, the uppipe, and a protune...maybe 300hp, but you're turbo will be out of gas around 6500rpms.

I'm trying to figure out why you're so adamant that he can't get a tune without an AP or a Ecutek? Have you never heard of a reflash? Try to find a tuner that will do a reflash, no hardware to buy and much cheaper. We have a road tuner here in IN that will tune a typical stage 2 car for ~$150 or so. Needless to say, our AP's are all getting sold in this region. So if you REALLY need one, I can get you one pretty cheap.
I ditched my UTEC in favor of the reflash, and I can't say enough about how much better it runs.

+1 for reflash.... I have been running a modified cobb tage two map for a year or so now and I could nt be any happier.... a guy I used to hang out with at meets out here did free reflashes at the meets. He probably reflashed 50+ cars out here. I plan on having him do a retune for me when I eventually replace my turbo(bottom of the list in mods for me).

did a little research, and what do you know....learn something new everyday! from another forum:
Yeah, alot of tuners are skipping out on AP/ECUTEK completley these days because they're using engenuity/openecu for their tunes. Since it's free and all, and you just need to pay for the tune.
so the good things are obviously 1)easy, 2) don't have to buy the hardware.......ummm, 3)?
What I want to know is:
Can I still switch between maps as easily as an AP? If this is like a base-map reflash, there's only a limited number of times you can re-flash the Subaru ECU....this is a major benefit of the AP.
For my personal application, I NEED this as well.....for a stage rally car, I need to have a tune for a 34mm restrictor. A tune for race gas, a tune for regular gas/regular driving.
I wouldn't pay some guy ANYthing to reflash my car unless I know what kind of map I'm getting, warranty, etc. Sure, I may save a few bucks, but what if some dude at an auto-x event reflashes your car with the wrong map and you blow your engine? You're SOL. I realize that's the worst case scenario, but I'll personally pay the extra few hundred bucks to get something with the COBB name on it. My tuner is a Cobb dealer, so I know he knows what he's doing.
Obviously, I'm biased :) But for engine management/protune, I'll pay the big bucks, save $$ with the ebay strut brace. Take this with a grain of salt, do your own research, and make your own conclusions and buying decision.

You should never, in any way, buy a reflash. You should however pay someone to tune your car. I'm not paying anybody (Not even Cobb) for a map that works on my car as well as 1000000 other cars. It mind ****'s me that anybody would. If somebody wants to reflash your car at an autox, you should slap them in the face. :D
I guess I should have explained "road tuner". A road tuner is somebody that tunes your car on the road. :D
For your needs the AP sounds like the way to go, but what happens if you start getting knock or boost drops off because of the alt. etc? What I'm getting at is for your scenario it looks like a UTEC would be an even better bet. Yes, you can get street tuner software, but for the price you're looking at twice the money.
I'm amazed that there is even a market for reflashers such as the AP, especially when there are things like the UTEC around. With an AP can you push a button on the dash and be on a different map? :D
I was just pointing out that the tuning options go well beyond an AP and EcuTek. (I can off hand think of about 6 or more different EM's.)
Oh, and don't assume that since someone is a Cobb dealer they know what they are doing. It just means they have the money, or sell enough parts to be a Cobb dealer.

As I mentioned earlier, I know a guy who specializes in the H4DOTC Boxer engine. He knows his stuff...
I can get a reflash for 75 bucks.
Eventually I will be going with a bigger turbo. just not anytime soon.
Anybody got any tips for the up pipe install? I heard its a major pita!
As for cobb and perrin, I don't have the money for the tuning stuff yet...
